Steppin' Out in Pink Frequently Asked Questions

I'm not registered! Is it too late to participate?

No way! You can register for Steppin' Out in Pink anytime over the next eight days. You can also register on the morning of the event at the Registration Tent (although you may have to wait in a short line). Skip the line and register now!

Do I have to join a team to come to Steppin' Out in Pink?

Absolutely not! You can come solo or with a full crew - either way, you're going to have a great time! Creating or joining a team is completely optional and just an extra way to add some fun to the experience.

Do I have to raise extra money in order to attend Steppin' Out in Pink?

Nope! Fundraising is completely optional, but very appreciated! All the funds we raise stay right here in our community to support local breast cancer research and patient programs at Gundersen Medical Foundation.

I want to make a donation but don't want to do it online. What should I do?

Thank you for raising money for Steppin' Out in Pink! You can bring cash and check donations to the event and drop them off at the Registration Tent - there will be a line just for donation drop offs. You are also welcome to drop donations off any time at Gundersen Medical Foundation's office (201 3rd Street N, right next to the Gundersen Dental Specialties).

Where should I park?

Parking at Steppin' Out in Pink has never been easier! Our generous sponsor, Cleary Management Corporation, has opened THREE of their parking lots for you to conveniently park. In addition, downtown La Crosse has several nearby parking ramps with free parking on the weekends. For more parking information, click here.

I've registered but I don't have my t-shirt yet. Where can I get it?

If you opted to have your shirt mailed to you, you should expect to receive it any day now. Our team worked hard to ship out t-shirts on August 30th! Keep an eye out for your pink package arriving via USPS.

If you need to pick up your shirt, you can do so at the Registration Tent on the morning of the walk. Simply tell the staff member your name (and your team name if applicable) and they'll be able to help! You are also welcome to pick up your shirt before the walk by contacting us at steppinout@gundersenhealth.org.

How long is the route? Where does it go?

Our new and improved route is just over2.5 miles and takes you from Riverside Park through the International Friendship Gardens, along the western portion of the Jim Asfoor Trail, through downtown La Crosse, and then along the Mississippi River via Riverside Park. You can see the route map here.

Who will be performing at Steppin' Out in Pink?

We are excited to have several talented individuals and groups entertaining us this year on the Riverside Park bandshell and along the walk. View the full lineup here.

Will there be food available?

YES! New this year, we are hosting some awesome brunch vendors! You do not need to be a registered walker to enjoy the food or market. Click here for a complete vendor list. On the route, you'll find some Festival Foods Fuel at Marker #3 next to our Community Stage.

Are there restrooms available along the route?

You bet! There will be portable restrooms at Marker #1 and Marker #3. And of course, we will have plenty of restrooms available at Riverside Park!

What if I want to buy a shirt without participating in the walk?

Until the event has finished, you must register in order to purchase a t-shirt. Registering for Steppin' Out in Pink does not require attendance at the event. Once the event is over, you are welcome to purchase a t-shirt (but please keep in mind we may have limited sizes available). You're welcome to contact us after the event and we can make arrangements to get a shirt to you.
